Silver Souls

A special photography book project celebrating senior dogs

A Book. A Showcase. A Tribute to Them.

The Silver Souls Project is a community-driven book and fundraising initiative honoring senior dogs while directly supporting senior dog rescue efforts through Old Dog Haven.

This special project shines the light on the sweet senior dogs in our lives and how they’ve made a lasting impact.

It brings together portraits of dogs who are still here, graying muzzles and all, as well as the ones who are deeply missed but never forgotten.

This beautiful collector's edition coffee table photo book will create a shared record of devotion, aging, and legacy.

Whether your senior dog is still here or they’ve journeyed across the rainbow bridge, we’d love to include them in this special project.

Participation fees and book sales directly support senior dog rescue, extending the impact beyond the pages.

This book project is for those who’ve known the love of a senior dog

This project is for you if you’ve started noticing the gray.

If your dog has slowed down just enough to change the rhythm of your days.

If you want to honor the love you share, not someday, but now.

It’s also for those whose dogs are no longer beside them, but still woven into everything they are.

This project holds space for both.

  • "She is very accommodating to you and your pets abilities. One of my dog’s is blind and she understood that his cues were vocal vs visual. You’ll feel like you’re working with a friend in a relaxed environment yet you’ll get high quality photos to last a lifetime."

    Sterling + Walker’s mom, Lillian M.

  • "The photoshoot was easy and fun - no pressure for anything to be a certain way - whatever I wanted and was comfortable and doable for my 15 year old soul doggo. The products bring tears to my eyes and I will cherish them always. "

    Izzy’s mom, Mollyrose

  • "Bentley recently had a health scare that made us realize how precious time really is, so getting photos of him was so important to us. I can’t say enough great things about our experience and how Marie went above and beyond to make it a wonderful one."

    Bentley’s mom, Jessika R.

MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

My work has always centered around the bond between pets and their people. Over time, I found myself especially drawn to senior dogs, the ones with gray muzzles and calmer steps.

Even before becoming a pet photographer, I worked in veterinary medicine where I saw firsthand how deeply the later years shape both dogs and the people who love them.

Senior dogs taught me something I’ll never forget: the final chapters aren’t lesser years. They’re fuller. Deeper. More intentional.

This project brings together everything I care deeply about; portraiture, storytelling, and giving back to rescue efforts.

It’s a way to honor the dogs who stood beside us through every season of life.

Let’s remember them fully.

How wild they once were.

How deeply they loved.

How they had your back through all of life’s ups and downs.

  • We will be going by the standard averages for seniors, respecting that not all dogs age the same. Below is a guide to the ages we’ll be referencing, but will also be flexible during the application process and judge each dog individually.

    • Giant Breeds (over 90 lbs): 6–7 years

    • Large Breeds (50–90 lbs): 7–8 years

    • Medium Breeds (21–50 lbs): 8–10 years

    • Small/Toy Breeds (under 20 lbs): 10–12 years

  • Let’s meet up before-hand!

If you have a dog or pet who is shy, nervous or even a little aggressive, this can be a great time to introduce them to me and my camera and work on getting them used to me prior to their session.

This has worked really well in the past and has allowed me to work with dogs who tend not to like strangers very much.

We'll also take plenty of time during your session and we’ll keep our distance as needed so they can relax and be as comfortable as possible.

  • Every pet has a personality that is just oh so them.

I've worked with puppies, rescues and all sorts of different species of animals in my career, and our assistant also has a pack of 6 dogs and 3 cats at home, so she’s used to the crazy and unique personalities of our furry friends.

I've got a large bag of tricks to dig into that is sure to help even the most stubborn of dogs relax and have fun.

  • Yes!

Please submit an application for each dog individually.

  • Book sessions will be focused on the dog, but an upgrade option is available for a full customized session to include other dogs and human family members.

Custom session upgrades are an additional $100 and include a bonus $200 credit to spend on images and artwork.

Final investment? From $250 - $15,000 or more, we serve a wide range of budgets. On average, clients invest $2500-5000 on their images and products.
