Foster Fridays

by Marie Wulfram Photography

WHAT IS FOSTER FRIDAYS?

A weekly initiative dedicated to helping local Seattle - Tacoma rescues by providing professional portraits for foster dogs, completely FREE of charge as our way to help give back.

We believe that a powerful image can be the key to finding a forever home for these incredible dogs (and cats) and want to be able to help as many of them as we can.

Many potential adopters make their decision based on the photos they see online, so by offering these high-quality portraits, we're hoping to increase the visibility of harder-to-adopt dogs and help them find loving homes faster.

Through this initiative, we're not just capturing images; we're creating opportunities for these pups to be seen, loved, and adopted.

WHO ARE THESE SESSIONS FOR?

This program is open to foster parents working with any 501(c)3 rescue organization.

All dogs are photographed safely on leash while respecting their unique quirks, needs and boundaries. Long-term fosters are highly encouraged to participate.

Foster Fridays is proudly offered by Marie Wulfram Photography, a Spanaway based pet photographer with years of experience working alongside rescues, fosters, and veterinary professionals. This initiative reflects a long standing commitment to animal welfare, ethical photography, and helping pets move one step closer to home.

These sessions are only for foster dogs. Dogs will be verified as fosters before any photos are released.

“I couldn’t possibly recommend Marie more! My foster Bimini struggles with new people and places so I was concerned this would be a difficult situation for her. Marie calmly led us both through a very relaxed and low pressure session that Bimini and I both enjoyed. She allowed Bimini to warm up at her own pace, and it was incredible to see Bimini open up to her after being given the time and space to do so. By the end, they were buddies and I learned a lot from Marie about allowing anxious dogs to engage without pressuring them to do so.”

- Bimini’s foster, Sarah

How It Works

1. Join the Email List

So you never miss out on hearing about the next Foster Friday location

2. Monday Email

Every Monday, a new email goes out with the location/time. First to claim the spot gets it.

3. Friday Adventure

We’ll meet up and go for a little adventure. A fun day out for your foster resulting in new adoption profile photos.

4. One Step Closer to a Forever Home

Update your foster’s adoption portfolio with their new high quality (and stinkin’ adorable) photos.

Because sometimes one photo is all it takes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely! As with all the dogs we photograph, they will remain safely on-leash during their session, unless in a safe and fenced in space (such as a SniffSpot).

Leashes are removed during the editing process.

  • We never charge our rescues or fosters for getting professional images of the dogs in their care, and so these sessions are complimentary for foster dogs.

That said, we've had foster parents ask about tipping or supporting us and the work we do (bless you for your kindness). We always tell fosters if they want to contribute something to support our rescue photography, they can buy us a coffee (tip) here or Venmo us @marie-wulfram

  • Not at all! We simply want to help as many dogs as possible in getting great imagery to help them get adopted as we know not all rescues have the resources or volunteers to do so themselves.

Personal pets are not allowed for these sessions.

  • We do recommend being in some photos interacting and playing with your foster to help show off their fun or cuddly side, but it’s not a requirement and the main focus is on them.

  • We will be working in various locations all throughout Washington to make these fun and adventurous for the dogs and give them a nice day out. Some may be parks, some may be more of a hike. Every week will be somewhere new.

  • We understand that life happens! We simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can try to get another foster into your spot.

Please note: No-call/no-shows will be blacklisted from future Foster Fridays. We simply ask for open communication, even if it's day of.

Through my years in veterinary medicine, I've helped change the lives of countless pets.

Now that I’m a pet photographer, working with rescues and fosters is one of the many ways that I continue to change the lives of pets in need.

Since starting in 2020, we’ve photographed hundreds of rescue dogs and raised/donated over $40,000 for rescues and the incredible work they do.
